Worship and prayer are the basic elements of faith but these are extended by
our outreach and service to others and to our wider community and world.
The outreach programs below allow us to better proclaim and share our faith.
- Youth Programs
-
As outlined in our Goals, our Youth Program is being expanded and
enhanced. We are dedicated to sharing our faith, mission, and service
with our youth through study, fellowship, recreation, activities, prayer,
and love. Please go to our Youth Programs page to see and read about
what our youth have done and are doing!
-
- Prayer Requests
-
Prayer requests are integral to our Sunday services and to our caring for
others. Any Church member or visitor may submit prayer requests.
Prayer requests received by Thursday noon of each week are included in our
printed program for the following Sunday's services. During each
service Rev. Harrison calls for prayer requests from the congregation as
well.
To make a prayer request online, please click on the following link and
complete the prayer request form. Thank you!
- Volunteer Opportunities
-
Jamesville Community Church is a community of volunteers who share their
commitment, time, and talents to enrich the lives of others. There are
many, many opportunities for volunteerism within our Church and in programs
in the community-at-large which are supported by our Church.
- Click on the word volunteer to read more
about volunteer opportunities at Jamesville Community Church. On this
same page you can sign up online to serve as a volunteer!
-
- Lost Boys From Sudan
-
In combination with a number of churches of all faiths in the Syracuse
area we are sponsoring and supporting the young men from the so-called
"Lost Boys of Sudan." These boys have lost their families
and were living in abject poverty in their home land -- a land torn by war,
strife, poverty, and starvation.
- Financial and property donations as well as volunteer support is needed to
ensure that their lives in this new country and community are happy,
healthy, and fruitful. Click on Lost Boys to learn more about the
individuals with whom we are working.
-
- Meals On Wheels
-
Nutrition for the elderly and shut-ins is a pressing problem in our
society and our community. Members of our Church work through a
Coordinator to support the efforts of our local Meals-On-Wheels
Chapter. We work to feed the hungry with food and faith.
- Summer Vacation Bible School
- JCC offers a vacation bible school each summer in the month of July for
children ages 6 to 15. It is not necessary to be a member of our
Church for your children to take advantage of the fun and activities of our
vacation bible school. For more information contact
us.
